With over three decades of clinical, academic, and surgical experience, Dr. Leo has held multiple leadership and academic positions across Italian medical institutions, including the University of Turin and A. Avogadro University of Novara. He has trained numerous specialists in gynecologic endoscopy, served as a consultant for the Italian Medicines Agency (AIFA), and contributed to hospital reorganization and PMA accreditation projects.

Dr. Ayman Raouf Khalifa is an Associate Professor of Orthodontics and Chairperson of the Department of Preventive Dentistry at the College of Dentistry, Gulf Medical University (GMU), UAE. He also serves as Program Director of the NIHS-accredited Orthodontic Residency Program at Thumbay Dental Hospital, Ajman. He obtained his BDS, MSc, and PhD in Orthodontics from Cairo University, Egypt. His distinguished academic career spans Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the United States, and the UAE. He previously served as Associate Professor at the Egyptian Military Medical Academy and October 6 University, and as a Visiting Associate Professor at the University of Hawai‘i’s John A. Burns School of Medicine. Dr. Khalifa has collaborated on craniofacial research with Indiana University School of Dentistry and holds consultant licenses from the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties and the UAE health authorities. He is a Fellow of the World Federation of Orthodontists (WFO) and an International Member of the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO).

She is currently a Chief Investigator on two international clinical trials and is leading the development of a national and international collaborative team to expand her pilot randomised controlled trial into a large, multi-centre study aimed at reducing neonatal brain injury.

Through her doctoral and postdoctoral research, she has advanced evidence regarding individualized hemostatic assessment, transfusion decision-making, and the integration of multivariable prediction models in neonatal intensive care. Beyond hemostasis, her scholarly contributions extend to neonatal transfusion medicine, growth and nutritional physiology of preterm infants, and long-term outcomes in vulnerable neonatal cohorts. She serves as reviewer for 41 scientific journals and has been invited as Guest Editor for multiple Special Issues in high-impact journals.
