Dr. Shareif Hammad Hussin is a distinguished Sudanese research scientist specializing in crop science, molecular biology, and plant breeding. He holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS) in Beijing, China. Currently serving as the Director of the Geneva Research Station within Sudan's Agricultural Research Corporation (ARC), Dr. Shareif leads critical agricultural research initiatives. His expertise is further recognized through his active participation in international scientific programs, including a current one-year fellowship in the Talented Young Scientist Program at CAAS in Changsha, China, where he investigates antiviral biocontrol mechanisms. With a robust publication record in esteemed journals such as Sustainability, Plant Molecular Biology, and the Journal of Integrative Agriculture, Dr. Shareif's research focuses on genome editing (CRISPR/Cas9), drought tolerance, and sustainable crop improvement. He is fluent in Arabic and English and possesses working proficiency in Mandarin Chinese.
