Open access publishing
Fees & Waivers
ConfMeets Publishing is committed to maintaining a transparent, ethical, and accessible open-access publishing model. Article Processing Charges (APCs) support the services required to evaluate, prepare, publish, disseminate, and preserve accepted scholarly content.
The applicable APC is determined by the Processing Category and the Article Category under which a manuscript is accepted for publication. This structure allows publication charges to reflect differences in manuscript format, editorial requirements, production needs, and publication arrangements.
All financial matters are administered independently of editorial decision-making. An author's ability or inability to pay an APC does not influence peer review, editorial assessment, acceptance, or rejection.
No Separate Submission, Peer-Review, or Withdrawal Fees
ConfMeets Publishing does not charge authors a separate fee for manuscript submission, initial editorial screening, technical assessment, peer review, editorial decision-making, or manuscript withdrawal before publication.
Authors are not required to make any payment in order to obtain peer review or an editorial decision. For peer-reviewed scholarly content, the applicable APC becomes payable only after the manuscript has completed the relevant editorial and peer-review process and has been formally accepted for publication.
Article Processing Charges
ConfMeets Publishing uses a structured APC model based on both the Processing Category and the Article Category.
The principal Processing Categories are Regular Issue, Special Issue, Conference Proceedings. Within scholarly processing categories, manuscripts are further grouped according to the nature and format of the article.
Article types available for submission may vary according to the aims, scope, and editorial policy of the individual journal.
All APCs stated on this page are in Euros (EUR) and apply per accepted article or contribution unless otherwise specified.
Regular Issue APCs
Regular Issue manuscripts are articles published as part of the journal's normal publication schedule. They undergo the journal's standard editorial assessment, applicable peer-review process, ethical checks, and production workflow.
| Processing Category | Article Category | Article Types | APC |
|---|---|---|---|
| Regular Issue | Full-Length Scholarly Articles | Research Article, Review Article, Systematic Review / Meta-analysis, Theoretical/Hypothesis Article, Case Series, Study Protocol, Methodology/Technical Article, where applicable | € 449 |
| Shorter or Focused Contributions | Mini Review, Short Communication/Brief Report, Case Report, Case Study, Letter to the Editor | € 299 | |
| Editorial, Commentary and Opinion Content | Editorial, Editorial Note, Commentary, Perspective/Viewpoint, Opinion Article, Position Paper, and similar scholarly discussion articles | € 149 |
Acceptance for a Regular Issue is based on scholarly merit, relevance to the journal, methodological or academic quality, ethical compliance, and suitability for publication. Payment considerations do not form part of the editorial decision.
Special Issue APCs
Special Issues are thematic collections developed around a defined research topic, emerging area, interdisciplinary theme, or other subject of particular scholarly interest.
Manuscripts submitted to a Special Issue are evaluated according to the same standards of editorial oversight, research integrity, publication ethics, and scholarly quality that apply to the journal's regular content. Where external peer review is applicable to the article type, the same peer-review standards are maintained.
| Processing Category | Article Category | Article Types | APC |
|---|---|---|---|
| Special Issue | Full-Length Scholarly Articles | Research Article, Review Article, Systematic Review / Meta-analysis, Theoretical/Hypothesis Article, Case Series, Study Protocol, Methodology/Technical Article, where applicable | € 349 |
| Shorter or Focused Contributions | Mini Review, Short Communication/Brief Report, Case Report, Case Study, Letter to the Editor | € 249 | |
| Editorial, Commentary and Opinion Content | Editorial, Editorial Note, Commentary, Perspective/Viewpoint, Opinion Article, Position Paper, and similar scholarly discussion articles | € 149 |
A different APC for Special Issue content reflects the applicable publication arrangement and does not indicate a reduced editorial or peer-review standard.
Some approved Special Issues may also be supported through institutional funding, sponsorship, full or partial waivers, or other publishing arrangements. Where such support applies, the relevant terms will be communicated clearly to authors.
Participation in a Special Issue does not guarantee acceptance.
Conference Proceedings APCs
ConfMeets Publishing may publish eligible scholarly papers arising from approved academic conferences, scientific congresses, symposia, workshops, professional meetings, and other recognized scholarly events.
Conference participation or presentation does not automatically qualify a paper for journal publication. Each manuscript considered for publication must satisfy the journal's scope, authorship, ethical, research-integrity, and editorial requirements. Where a paper is published as peer-reviewed scholarly content, the applicable peer-review process will be completed before acceptance.
| Processing Category | Conference Publication Format | Article Types | APC |
|---|---|---|---|
| Conference Proceedings | Full Conference Papers | Full Paper, Original Research Paper, Review Paper, Technical/Methodology Paper, where applicable | € 349 |
| Short Conference Contributions | Short Paper, Brief Paper, Short Communication, Extended Abstract | € 249 | |
| Abstract and Poster Contributions | Conference Abstract, Meeting Abstract, Poster Paper | € 99 |
The journal retains final editorial responsibility for determining whether conference content is suitable for publication.
Conference Abstracts, Meeting Abstracts, Extended Abstracts, and Poster contributions will be clearly identified according to their publication type. They will not be presented as full-length peer-reviewed research articles unless they have undergone the journal's applicable full-paper editorial and peer-review process. The level of editorial or peer review applied to each proceedings format will be stated in the relevant conference publication information.
Published conference papers will be clearly identified as Conference Proceedings or Conference Papers in the journal archive and relevant article metadata.
Where a conference organizer, institution, academic society, or sponsor has an approved publishing agreement with ConfMeets Publishing, alternative APC arrangements may apply. Any such arrangement will be disclosed before publication.
Invited Editorial Content
Specifically invited Editorials, Editorial Notes, and Opinion Articles from Editorial Board members or invited subject experts may be published without an APC.
Unsolicited submissions in these article types are subject to the applicable APC if accepted for publication.
An invitation or APC exemption does not guarantee acceptance. Where an Editor or Editorial Board member is an author, the manuscript will be handled independently, and the author/editor will not participate in the editorial assessment or publication decision concerning their own submission.
Understanding Processing Categories, Article Categories, and Article Types
The APC structure distinguishes between three related classifications: Processing Category, Article Category, and Article Type. These classifications are used to identify the publication route, manuscript format, and applicable APC.
A Processing Category identifies the publication route under which content is processed and published. The Processing Categories currently used by ConfMeets Publishing are Regular Issue, Special Issue, Conference Proceedings.
An Article Category provides a broader grouping of content within the applicable Processing Category. For Regular and Special Issues, these categories include Full-Length Scholarly Articles, Shorter or Focused Contributions, and Editorial, Commentary and Opinion Content. Conference Proceedings use categories appropriate to those publication formats.
An Article Type identifies the specific format of the submitted content. Depending on the Processing Category, examples may include Research Article, Review Article, Mini Review, Short Communication/Brief Report, Case Report, Editorial, Conference Full Paper, Short Paper, Extended Abstract, Conference Abstract, Poster Paper, Research Highlight, or Professional Update.
For example, a Short Communication published in a Regular Issue remains a Short Communication as its Article Type, while Regular Issue is its Processing Category and Shorter or Focused Contributions is its Article Category. If the same article type is published in a Special Issue, the applicable Special Issue APC for that Article Category will apply.
Short Paper is not a separate Processing Category. Within Regular or Special Issues, short-format scholarly manuscripts are generally classified as Short Communication/Brief Report or another appropriate journal Article Type. Within Conference Proceedings, however, Short Paper may be used as a recognized conference Article Type under the Short Conference Contributions category.
Where a manuscript has been submitted under an incorrect classification, the Editorial Office may assign the appropriate Processing Category, Article Category, or Article Type. Any resulting APC change will be communicated to the author before final publication.
What the APC Covers
Article Processing Charges contribute to the publishing infrastructure and professional services required to prepare accepted content for publication.
Depending on the article and publication route, the APC may support editorial administration, manuscript management, technical screening, peer-review coordination, production management, copyediting, typesetting, DOI registration, metadata preparation, XML or structured metadata generation, online hosting, digital dissemination, discoverability services, content maintenance, and author support.
The APC represents a publication-processing charge and does not constitute payment for acceptance. Editorial decisions are based solely on the merits and suitability of the submitted work.
Open Access
ConfMeets Publishing follows an open-access publishing model. Published open-access content is made freely accessible online immediately upon publication, allowing readers worldwide to access scholarly material without subscription barriers.
Open access supports wider dissemination, increased visibility, accessibility for researchers and practitioners, interdisciplinary knowledge exchange, and broader educational use.
Published content is made available under the open-access licence specified by the applicable journal.
Supplementary Materials
Authors are encouraged to provide relevant supplementary materials where they improve transparency, reproducibility, or understanding of the published work.
Appropriate supplementary content may include datasets, additional figures or tables, multimedia files, supporting information, protocols, appendices, or data-availability information.
In most cases, no separate charge is applied for ordinary supplementary materials. Where unusually large, technically complex, or externally hosted material requires a special production or hosting arrangement, the author will be informed in advance.
Waiver and Discount Policy
ConfMeets Publishing recognizes that access to publication funding varies considerably across researchers, institutions, countries, and career stages.
Authors who are unable to meet the applicable APC may request a full waiver, partial waiver, or reduced APC. Requests are assessed individually and may take into account financial circumstances, institutional resources, funding availability, career stage, and other relevant factors.
Consideration may be given particularly where authors have limited access to research or publication funding, are affiliated with resource-constrained institutions, are students or early-career researchers experiencing genuine financial limitations, or have other exceptional circumstances.
Waivers and discounts are not automatic, and no specific reduction is guaranteed unless it has been formally confirmed by ConfMeets Publishing.
Waiver Eligibility and Assessment
For country- or institution-based waiver assessment, eligibility will normally be considered using the primary institutional affiliation of the corresponding author.
For other financial-hardship requests, ConfMeets Publishing may consider the availability of research funding, institutional support, grant funding, publication funding, career stage, and other relevant circumstances.
Authors are expected to provide accurate and complete information when requesting financial assistance.
A waiver or discount request has no bearing on the editorial assessment of the manuscript.
How to Request a Waiver or Discount
Authors may request financial assistance during submission or at any stage before the final APC invoice is issued.
A request should normally include the manuscript number, article title, corresponding author's name and institutional affiliation, relevant funding information, and a brief explanation of the reason for requesting financial assistance.
Requests should be sent to: finance@confmeets.com
Authors are encouraged to submit requests as early as reasonably possible so that the financial arrangement can be clarified before final publication.
Editorial Independence of Financial Decisions
Editorial decisions are based on the scholarly and scientific merits of a manuscript, including its originality, significance, methodological quality, relevance to the journal's aims and scope, compliance with ethical standards, and quality of presentation and reporting.
APCs, waivers, discounts, refunds, sponsorships, institutional arrangements, and conference publishing agreements are administered separately from editorial decision-making.
Editors and peer reviewers do not determine an author's eligibility for financial assistance. Waiver and discount requests are handled confidentially by appropriate administrative or finance personnel, and individuals directly involved in the editorial decision-making process are not informed of such requests during peer review or editorial assessment.
An author's financial circumstances, institutional funding status, country of residence or affiliation, or request for financial assistance does not influence reviewer selection, peer-review reports, editorial recommendations, acceptance, or rejection.
Institutional and Publishing Agreements
ConfMeets Publishing may enter into publishing arrangements with universities, research institutions, academic societies, professional organizations, research networks, scholarly associations, conference organizers, and other approved academic bodies.
Depending on the agreement, eligible authors may receive reduced APCs, partial or full APC support, institutional funding, sponsored publication support, conference publication support, or another approved financial arrangement.
Such agreements relate only to publication charges and publishing support. They do not guarantee manuscript acceptance or influence editorial decisions.
All scholarly manuscripts remain subject to the applicable journal's editorial and publication requirements.
Funding Agency Support
Authors are encouraged to explore whether open-access publication charges may be supported through research grants, institutional funds, funding agencies, universities, research sponsors, or other scholarly funding programmes.
Where funding support is available, authors should follow the relevant funder's or institution's requirements for publication expenses and acknowledgement of financial support.
Payment Information
Following formal acceptance of APC-bearing content, the corresponding author will receive details of the applicable Processing Category, Article Category, Article Type, APC amount, invoice, payment instructions, payment timeline, and any approved waiver, discount, sponsorship, or institutional arrangement.
Payment, or formal approval of an applicable waiver or financial arrangement, should normally be completed before final publication.
Where taxes, transaction charges, or other legally applicable charges apply, these will be clearly identified on the invoice or communicated before payment.
Financial processing remains separate from the scholarly and editorial assessment of the manuscript.
Manuscript Withdrawal before Publication
Authors may request withdrawal of an unpublished manuscript by submitting a written request from the registered corresponding-author email address.
ConfMeets Publishing does not charge a manuscript withdrawal fee, including where withdrawal is requested after peer review or formal acceptance but before publication.
For accepted manuscripts, the journal may request a brief explanation for withdrawal for administrative and scholarly-record purposes.
Where withdrawal involves a possible authorship dispute, duplicate submission, research-integrity concern, or other publication-ethics matter, the journal may review the circumstances before closing the manuscript record. Such review does not create a financial withdrawal penalty.
After Publication
Once an article has been formally published as the Version of Record, it becomes part of the permanent scholarly record and is not normally removed through the pre-publication withdrawal process.
Where significant errors, research-integrity concerns, or ethical issues arise after publication, the matter may be addressed through an appropriate Correction, Expression of Concern, Retraction, or other post-publication notice in accordance with the journal's relevant policies.
A retracted article normally remains part of the scholarly record and is clearly identified with the applicable retraction notice.
APC Refund Policy
No APC is payable before formal manuscript acceptance.
If an APC has been paid but substantive publication processing has not commenced, the author may submit a refund request to the Finance Office.
Once substantive production or publication services have begun following payment and author authorization, APC payments are normally non-refundable.
Refunds may nevertheless be considered in circumstances such as duplicate payment, payment made in error, publisher billing error, inability of the publisher to complete publication, or another exceptional circumstance approved by the Finance Office.
Refund decisions are administrative and financial matters and do not affect editorial decisions.
Commitment to Inclusive Publishing
ConfMeets Publishing aims to support access to scholarly publishing for researchers across different geographic regions, institutions, funding environments, and career stages.
Transparent APC structures, clearly defined processing categories, waiver and discount mechanisms, institutional support, and separation of financial matters from editorial decision-making form part of this commitment.
These practices are intended to support accessibility while maintaining appropriate standards of peer review, editorial independence, publication ethics, research integrity, and scholarly publishing.
