Clinical Diagnostics and Point-of-Care Testing

Clinical Diagnostics and Point-of-Care Testing (POCT) are essential components of modern healthcare, enabling early disease detection, monitoring, and personalized treatment. Clinical diagnostics involve laboratory-based analysis of biological samples such as blood, urine, and tissues using techniques like immunoassays, molecular diagnostics, and hematology to identify diseases and assess patient health. Point-of-Care Testing, however, allows for rapid diagnostic testing at or near the patient site, offering immediate results without the need for centralized labs. POCT devices are portable, easy to use, and widely employed in emergency rooms, clinics, and remote areas. Together, these approaches enhance patient care by enabling faster decision-making, improving access to healthcare, and reducing turnaround time. With advancing technology, clinical diagnostics and POCT are becoming more accurate, efficient, and accessible globally.
