Dr. Doaa Amin is the Director of the Water Resources Research Institute (WRRI), National Water Research Center, Egypt. She is an Associate Professor with research interests in hydrology, hydro-climatology, and water resources management. Her scientific work focuses on climate change impacts on the Nile Basin, rainfall estimation using satellite imagery, flood and drought risk assessment, and seasonal flow forecasting. She earned her Ph.D. in Hydraulic and Irrigation Engineering from Ain Shams University in 2014. Throughout her career, she has held several leadership positions, including Manager of the Nile Forecasting Center, Head of the Nile Basin Studies Department, Deputy Director of WRRI, and in 2025, Director of WRRI. Dr. Amin has led and participated in many national and international projects funded by EU, STDF, ASRT, and NWRC, addressing hydrological extremes, drought early warning, Nile flow simulation, and climate change adaptation. In addition to supervising theses and conducting training programs, she has authored and co- authored numerous peer-reviewed publications on groundwater, rainfall variability, flash floods, and sustainable water management. Through her leadership and research, Dr. Amin continues to contribute to advancing scientific knowledge, strengthening climate resilience, and supporting evidence-based policy for water resources in Egypt and the Nile Basin.
