Dr. Omer Faruk Bilgin is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Horticulture, Siirt University, Turkey. He earned his Ph.D. in Horticulture from Çukurova University, where his doctoral research focused on the development of sex-linked DNA markers and the elucidation of sex chromosome mechanisms in Pistacia lentiscus and Pistacia terebinthus species using next-generation sequencing methods. With a strong background in molecular genetics, fruit breeding, and plant physiology, Dr. Bilgin has extensive research experience from his roles at Selçuk, Çukurova, and Siirt Universities, as well as at the Ministry of Agriculture (TAGEM). He has actively participated in numerous national and international research projects, Erasmus exchange programs, and scientific collaborations with leading European universities and research institutes.
