Dr. Manan Sharma is a civil and hydropower engineer with over 15 years of experience across infrastructure projects in Nepal and South Asia. He currently leads the Infra Excellence Center at Nepal Infrastructure Bank, focusing on infrastructure advisory, lender’s engineering and due diligence for large-scale public and private projects. Prior to this he worked with Shanghai Investigation Design & Research Institute (SIDRI) in Nepal, where he contributed to major projects such as the Budhi Gandaki Hydropower Project and large bridge developments for the Government of Nepal. He holds a B.E. in Civil Engineering from Tribhuvan University and two master’s degrees from Nanjing, China (Hydraulic & Hydropower Engineering and Sustainable Infrastructure Engineering) and is now pursuing his PhD in Hydropower Engineering at Hohai University. His research and publication record encompass hydropower, climate change, environmental justice, and AI-based water resources management.
