Dr. Samuel Keith Williams, III, MD, CPG, was born on November 23, 1980, in Killeen, Texas. He is the son of a retired U.S. Army veteran who served in the Iraq War and a small business owner based in Columbia, South Carolina. Raised primarily in a single-parent household, Dr. Williams took on the role of eldest among ten children. He demonstrated academic excellence early on while attending public schools in Columbia, SC, and was notably the only African American sophomore enrolled in a junior-level general chemistry course at Dutch Fork High School in Irmo, SC. There, he also distinguished himself as a Varsity Cross Country athlete and one of the top 4A runners in the state. In 1997, he relocated to Hephzibah, Georgia, where he attended Butler High School, excelling both academically and athletically as an honor student, track team captain, and one of the leading pole vaulters in Richmond County. Following graduation, he enrolled in the Health Careers Opportunity Program (HCOP) at Savannah State University, graduating as valedictorian. He then pursued higher education at Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia, on a half-tuition academic scholarship, joining the Honors Program and excelling in courses such as Advanced Physical Chemistry. Dr. Williams earned his M.D. from Meharry Medical College School of Medicine in Nashville, Tennessee, where he graduated with a GPA of 3.01. He currently serves as President of the South Georgia Chapter of the Meharry Medical College National Alumni Association and is the administrator of the "Secret Society of Meharry" Facebook group.
