Cognitive Psychology

The study of the internal mental processes that underlie human reasoning, perception, memory, language, problem-solving, and decision-making is the focus of cognitive psychology, a fundamental branch of psychology. It seeks to understand how individuals acquire, process, store, and retrieve information, offering insights into the mechanisms that govern behavior and learning. Grounded in experimental methods and supported by advances in neuroscience and artificial intelligence, cognitive psychology plays a crucial role in fields such as education, clinical psychology, human-computer interaction, and cognitive therapy. By studying normal and impaired cognitive functions, researchers and practitioners can develop strategies to enhance learning, diagnose cognitive disorders, and improve mental performance. As the science of the mind, cognitive psychology continues to expand our understanding of how we think and how cognition shapes our interactions with the world.
