Copyright Policy

Author-Centric Copyright Policy

At Confmeets, authors retain full copyright of their published work. Upon acceptance, authors grant the journal a non-exclusive license to publish, archive, and disseminate the article globally in all formats and media. This innovative model allows authors to preserve ownership, facilitating the reuse of their content in future publications, teaching materials, and institutional repositories, provided the original publication in Confmeets is duly cited. Full terms are specified in the post-acceptance license agreement.

Open Access Licensing

  • Creative Commons Licenses: All published articles are made freely available under a Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) license as the standard. This license permits unrestricted reuse, redistribution, and adaptation of the work for any purpose, including commercial, provided the original authors and source are credited. Alternative CC licenses (e.g., CC BY-NC) may be available upon request, subject to journal policy and funder requirements.
  • Funder Compliance: Authors funded by agencies with specific open access mandates (e.g., Wellcome Trust, NIH, ERC) are responsible for indicating this requirement at submission. Confmeets Publishing will ensure the publication complies with these mandates, typically through the use of the appropriate CC license.

Permissions for Third-Party Material

Authors bear sole responsibility for obtaining written permission from the copyright holder for any third-party material included in their manuscript (e.g., figures, tables, extended text quotations). Proof of permission must be submitted with the manuscript. All incorporated third-party content must be clearly attributed in the caption or footnote, with a statement confirming that permission has been secured.

Post-Publication Corrections & Retractions

Confmeets is dedicated to maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the scholarly record.

  • Corrections (Erratum/Corrigendum): Issued to correct minor errors, typographical mistakes, or omissions that do not invalidate the article's conclusions. Authors are always consulted prior to the publication of a correction.
  • Retractions: Are published in cases of pervasive error, unreliable data, proven research misconduct, or serious ethical breaches. Retractions are enacted in strict adherence to COPE and ICMJE guidelines and are reserved for situations where the fundamental conclusions of the work are substantively compromised. All notices are permanently linked to the original article to ensure transparency.
