Dr. Kidon Sung is a Staff Fellow and Microbiologist in the Division of Microbiology at the National Center for Toxicological Research (NCTR), U.S. Food and Drug Administration. He earned his Ph.D. in Food Science and Technology from the University of Georgia, with a research focus on food safety and molecular detection of foodborne pathogens. Dr. Sung has extensive experience in antimicrobial resistance, biofilm biology, and nanoparticle-based antimicrobial strategies. Throughout his career at the FDA, he has received multiple prestigious awards recognizing excellence in laboratory science and research contributions.
