Dr Katarzyna Sadowska is a biologist and microbiologist specializing in phytopathology, microbiology, and the diagnosis of plant pathogens. She obtained her MSc in Biology (Microbiology) from Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań in 1999 and earned her PhD in Agricultural Sciences from Poznań University of Life Sciences in 2006, conducting research in environmental microbiology. Since 2008, she has been affiliated with the Institute of Plant Protection – National Research Institute in Poznań, where she currently serves as Senior Research Specialist at the Plant Disease Clinic and Bank of Pathogens. Her work focuses on isolation and identification of plant pathogenic bacteria and fungi, pathogenicity and hypersensitivity testing, development of microorganism preservation methods, and research on quarantine organisms. She actively participates in national research programs funded by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and has authored numerous Pest Risk Assessments (PRA) and pest categorizations. Dr Sadowska is a co-author of scientific publications, monographs, and book chapters and regularly participates in national and international scientific conferences. She is a member of the Polish Society of Microbiologists and the Polish Mycological Society.
