Biography

Dr Neong Shuet Ching is a recognised Physician Administrator by the Ministry of Health Malaysia, the Australasian College of Health Services Management, and an International Fellow of the Faculty of Medical Leadership and Management, UK. She is also a Fellow of the Royal Society of Public Health, UK, an Associate Fellow of the Australasian College of Health Services Management, an International Practitioner of the UK Faculty of Public Health, and a member of the Institute of Health and Social Care Management. Additionally, she is an Associate Member of the Malaysian Public Health Physicians Society, a life member of the Malaysian Society of Doctors in Health Management Services, and a life member of the Malaysian Medical Association (MMA). Dr Neong is passionate and experienced in health management and has published multiple international publications, especially on emotional intelligence, health management, and public health in international indexed, peer-reviewed journals. She has presented both oral and poster presentations in the fields of health management and health promotion. She is also the co-author of the international book “Emotional Intelligence and Its Association with Working Environmental Factors and Spiritual Intelligence Among Doctors.” She holds an MBBS from King's College London, University of London; a Master’s in Health Research from the National University of Ireland; a Master’s in Health Management from the University of New South Wales; and a PhD in Community Health (Health Management) from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), where she achieved an Excellent Thesis and graduated on time (GOT). With 18 years of experience working as a doctor in both London and Penang, Dr Neong has been carving a niche in public health, particularly in health management. She remains passionate about her field and is committed to continuing her journey in public health. In her leisure time, Dr Neong is a regular contributor on Medium.com, enjoys creative work on her iPad, and stays active on social media. She deeply values time spent with her nieces, nephews, and her brother’s family. For her, true richness lies not in material wealth but in the meaningful relationships nurtured throughout life.
