Biography -

Born in Catania, Italy, in 1982, Giuseppe Lanza has established a distinguished career in neurology and clinical neurophysiology. After six years of service as Senior Academic Researcher and Associate Professor, he currently holds the position of Full Professor and Dean of Applied Medical Sciences Techniques at the University of Catania. Following graduation with honours in Medicine, Professor Lanza specialized in Neurology and earned an international PhD at the same university. As a Visiting Clinical Research Fellow, he trained at the Department of Neuroscience and the Clinical Neurophysiology Unit of Newcastle University, Newcastle-upon-Tyne (UK). In 2013, he was awarded a Scientific Fellowship by the European Federation of Neurological Societies (EFNS). From 2013 to October 2018, Professor Lanza worked as a Consultant Neurologist at the Oasi Research Institute–IRCCS in Troina, Italy, a Collaborating Center of the World Health Organization, where he now serves as Head of the Clinical Neurophysiology Research Unit. Between 2015 and 2018, he also taught Neurology at the University of Enna (Italy), where he has recently returned to continue teaching activities. Professor Lanza has authored more than 300 publications in internationally indexed peer-reviewed journals and conferences, and actively contributes to the field as an Editor and invited Reviewer for several international journals. More recently, he obtained a Master of Science in Clinical Research and received an international award for translational research in Sleep Medicine. To date, Professor Lanza has achieved a Scopus h-index of 45 with approximately 4,500 citations, underscoring his significant impact on the global scientific community.
